Porcelain Tile / August 29, 2018 / Brousseau
For the easiest to clean and maintain floors ceramic and porcelain tiles seem to make the most sense. In theory the specifications regarding porcelain tiles make them vastly superior to ceramic tile. The specifications state that porcelain tiles are harder and more scratch resistant than ceramic. Porcelain is supposed to be denser and less porous then ceramic. Many people like the idea that some porcelain tiles are through body where the entire porcelain tile is the exact same color and texture as the surface.
Ensure that scrap tiles or another similar material is placed under the tile that is being drilled. This will help to halt the progress of the drill once it has finished drilling through the tile. Before drilling tile ensure that you are wearing the correct safety equipment including safety glasses or goggles. Ensure that you are using a residual current device (RCD) to help prevent electric shock. Drilling Small Diameter Holes (10mm or Smaller) with Diamond Cores. Mark the center of the hole to be drilled into the tile by using a marker or a sticky drive pad.
When the shipment arrives they can look vastly different from the ones that were originally ordered. Often the colors and textures can look different from the sample. Other times there may be surface scratches or other imperfections that make them look ugly. Once the shipment arrives at your door it can be extremely difficult to return them and ship them back. Other times the quality control issues are not noticed until the tiles are installed and then the manufacturer will never accept returns on already installed tiles no mater what types of problems they have.
